Illinois Antique Center / Contemporary Arts Center

Converted from a factory that made sheet metal duct-work and fittings, the IAC/CAC has more than 64,000 square feet of retail and exhibition space in its combination of three buildings, varying from two to four floors above grade. The Water Street loading dock area of the center building was closed in for the new main entry from the river front, and for a restaurant. Lavatories, elevators, corridors and fire stairs were installed to service the new multi-tenant use of both buildings. New storefront, windows, doors, and lighting fixtures were installed, as well as heating and air-conditioning equipment, fire suppression, and electrical systems
